Duality Wrap Jacket
Style Journey

01. Design
Our Duality Wrap Jacket is designed at the Del Moment Head Office in Byron Bay, Australia.
From here, our Tech Packs are created and sent to our denim specialist pattern makers in Melbourne Australia, Comm Patterns to create the pattern and refine all elements of the style to ensure the manufacturers can achieve the best possible first sample.

02. Pattern Making
Paul McCuaig, owner of Comm Patterns, is our freelance denim pattern maker, garment development, pattern spec, and production specialist who creates our patterns for Del Moment Denim. Comm Patterns is based in Melbourne, Australia and Paul has been working as a denim specialist for 28 years, working with leading global brands. Initially, we work on the product development stage to form the base of the pattern and style.
The patterns are passed onto our manufacturers who begin to sample the Duality Wrap Jacket. We are honoured to partner with Comm Patterns and Paul, a specialist in his field who touches everything with his heart, bringing our Del Moment denim to life while working closely with our denim manufacturer, Vince Clothing, in Melbourne, Australia. Being closely located to one another makes this process seamless as they work hand in hand together and have great communication both in-person and online to ensure each step of the garment process from start to finish is at a high standard.
We are so proud to support our local industry peers. Many hands and energetic connections go into these initial processes.

03. Fabric Sourcing
We choose to use ISKO Denim, sourced from Gaziantep, Turkey for our Duality Wrap Jacket in Obsidian, made from 91% Cotton, 6% Polyester, and 3% Elastane.
ISKO™ are setting in the benchmark for denim production through their impeccable standards of sustainability, transparency and responsibility, being the first denim mill in the world to be awarded Nordic Swan Ecolabel and EU Ecolabel certifications. ISKO™ have provided us with a statement declaring they do not use cotton from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan or XinJiang in China, regions reported to violate human rights in sourcing, including implementing forced labour.
A member of Textile Exchange, SAC (Sustainable Apparel Coalition), SLCP (Social Labour Convergence Project), Sedex, and OEKO TEX Standard 100 (Certificate No: 02.T.2610) ISKO™ are guided by practice recommendations, preferred fibres and responsible supply networks; from farming to materials, processing, traceability and product end-of-life.
This fabric is sent straight to our denim specialists in Melbourne.

04. Washing & Dyeing
We work with (ECA - Ethical Clothing Australia accredited), Richmond Laundry who have been serving the Australian fashion industry for over 30 years and use only GOTS certified dyes to obtain the wash look for our denim.
A small meterage of this fabric is sent to our local denim manufacturers in Melbourne, Vince Clothing to sample for the second and third time so we can refine any adjustments prior to production and grading.

05. Sampling
Vince Clothing (ECA) are our local production house and denim specialists based in Melbourne, Australia who are responsible for the creation and production for all Del Moment Denim.
We work closely with the incredible team here and honour the passion and care put into creating each individual piece. The samples are returned to us in Byron Bay to fit on our fit model and make any comments or refinements. Vince Clothing will sample between 1-3 times, prior to returning the final sample to Comm Patterns, who proceed to size grade.

06. Trims
Our sewing thread is currently cotton, however our ongoing goal is to achieve GOTS certified cotton thread that has functionality and stability testing for durable use, we are working closely with our suppliers to achieve this as quickly as possible. These trims are all sent to Catwalk Clothing to create the final piece.

07. Labelling
Our internal labelling (brand woven labels, size pips, and care labels) is made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester at GRS (Global Recycle Standard) from our manufacturer, High Top in Hong Kong, China who is BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) accredited. The labels are sent from Hong Kong to our Byron Bay HQ, then the exact numbers needed for production are shared to each production house, ensuring no excess.
Our swing tags (both our branded and secondary educational tag) are made from recycled paper in Sydney, Australia. These are sent to our Byron Bay HQ in bulk, we then send only the exact amount required to each production house, to limit any waste. Our swing tag hanging material is a Biodegradable PLA plastic garment seal cord with a GRS hangtag.

08. Grading
Once the final sample is confirmed, Comm Patterns begin to size grade the style, ensuring that our sizing structure meets the global standard and measurements, based on AU sizing. The graded patterns are then passed onto Vince Clothing, to begin the final cutting and production process for the PO units placed.

09. Manufacturing
Vince Clothing, our ECA Accredited and trusted production house and denim specialists, based in Melbourne Australia. Vince Clothing produce and hand create all of our denim (both Maliblu & Obsidian colourways), intricately crafting and ensuring love, passion and ethical practices are infused and at the foundation of every piece. We are proud to support this small, family-owned business in favour of lower-cost, offshore manufacturing.Vince Clothing make, QC, label, pack and seal every single piece prior to these getting collected and sent back to our Byron Bay HQ.

10. Packaging & Shipment
All garments are packaged and transported in polybags that are home compostable (AS5810 ABAP 20001) created from wheat, cassava root, and sugar by High Top (BSCI accredited) in Hong Kong, China and sent to our Byron Bay HQ. We only ship the exact amount required for production to minimise waste. As a Carbon Neutral company, all carbon is calculated and offset for every single journey of this production.
